I now have complete collection of all modern Chevy Tahoe & Suburban versions (starting 2007). I published Tahoe & Suburban versions from each generation, and most popular Police/Fire Dep vehicle versions.
Tahoe & Suburban (2021 and up): Latest gen models are not my favorite and their rounded shape does not translate that good into brick model, but this design come out better than expected. Its really hard hard to do anything good with that strange shape below headlights, I used 1×1 bracket parts there, but front area can be improved if custom stickers are used. I think the 21 PPV version is the best version of current gen models, black color scheme help to hide the front end curves and details, and front push bar further hides some design inaccuracies in front.
Tahoe & Suburban (2015-2020): Previous gen versions looked weird too with terrible headlight design, but overall I really like its simple shape and straight lines. Headlights was a problem. I think my solution is not perfect, but I don’t think anything better can be done without using stickers. With stickers I would replace my orange parts behind headlights with body color parts, and use small sticker to replicate orange side reflectors.
Chevrolet Tahoe & Suburban (2007-2014): This is my favorite generation, and one of my favorite vehicles ever. Great simple design and clean lines. Interestingly this was one of more difficult designs because of headlights, they are super simple, but on my body shape they don’t fit perfectly. Body itself works great, but headlights are not centered in height, they are either 1 stud too low or too high. If I make them 1 stud more tall, then they are too tall. I can use modified brick with side stud and make the headlights sideways, then they match the shape perfectly, but I don’t like the solid 1×1 tile area, it looks too simple and clean, so I decided to use 2 1×1 plates tacked and sideways 1×1 tile as orange reflector. I think lights itself look perfect, but because they are not centered its hard to do a good grille, its also either too big or too low. So for this generation I think black color with black grille works the best, or any other color and black grille. I don’t like the idea of loosing that horizontal bar that splits the grille in two sections below and above badge, but in most cases it does not look right. In my versions I uploaded here I’m using different techniques – black grille, black grille with body color horizontal bar, and dark gray color parts.
This generation designs are a bit weaker in front
Next year I will also finalize all Tahoe & Suburban models from 2000-2006 (GMT800 platform) and after that 1991-1999 (GMT400 platform) models. And for Suburban also 1973-19991 models. Don’t know yet about older Suburban models.
